Jack Gilinsky confirmed he is dating Madison Beer! The Jack & Jack star opened up about the romance speculation at this weekend’s Radio Disney Music Awards.
Gilinsky spoke to reporter Chris Trondsen at the RDMAs red carpet, and it wasn’t long before the singer’s dating life came up. When Trondsen brought up how much Gilinsky’s fans hate his supposed relationship with Beer, Gilinsky did not deny the romance speculation.
“[The fans are] mad, I agree [about me dating Madison Beer],” Gilinsky said. “You know, I haven’t been so open about it, but I don’t know if I’m totally ready to talk about it right now. But I feel bad because I’ve kept it in a lot. But, I mean, it is what it is. I’m sorry for anyone that is mad about it. I guess.”
Indeed, Jack Gilinsky and Madison Beer’s romance has faced plenty of backlash, especially because of the couple’s two-year age gap. So when fans started a roast of Jack & Jack last month, the Gilinsky/Beer relationship was a frequent topic. But at least Gilinsky’s musical partner, Jack Johnson, is supporting the new relationship.
“It’s kind of a nuisance just seeing everybody hating on him, when it’s just these two kids who like each other,” Johnson said. “And it’s no big deal.”
Some fans are even worried that Madison Beer will come between Jack Gilinsky and Jack Johnson. But Jack & Jack insisted that they would always be close friends.
Jack Gilinsky and Madison Beer first faced dating rumors back in January, when a fan spotted them hanging out at a juice bar. And when Gilinsky posted an adorable photo of the duo on Beer’s birthday, the speculation just intensified.
Since then, Gilinsky and Beer have been out in public together several times, most recently at the Just Jared Throwback Thursday Party and the Justin Bieber roast. So while fans may not approve of them dating, that clearly will not stop this budding romance.
