1 August 2003 - Marie died from head injuries following a reported physical dispute with her boyfriend, rocker Bertrand Cantat in the couple`s Vilnius hotel room on July 27. An investigation is on-going but no charges have been filed. He said the trauma was accidental.
In March 2004 her boyfriend, rock-musician Bertrand Cantat, was convicted of killing her by a Lithuanian court. He was sentenced to eight years in prison.
