Mark Willacy is an Australian investigative journalist for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He has won Australia's top journalism prize the Gold Walkley. Willacy has won six other Walkley Awards and has twice been named Queensland Journalist of the Year. Willacy is currently based in Brisbane. Before that he was based in Tokyo for five years as the ABC's North Asia bureau chief and correspondent. Willacy has reported for the ABC from more than 30 countries in Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific. He has written for the Australian literary journal Meanjin, the UK newspaper The Independent, and the Diplomat magazine.
