Masood Ahmad Khan (Urdu: مسعود اشعر; Masʻūd Ashʻar; 10 February 1930/1931 – 5 July 2021), better known as Masood Ashar, was a Pakistani Urdu short story writer, novelist, journalist, columnist
and translator. On 14 August 2009, he was awarded the Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan. In 2015, he received Sitara-i-Imtiaz, third-highest civilian award of Pakistan.
