Matt Zimmerman is a technologist and free software and open source developer. Zimmerman has been working for Canonical Ltd. as the technical leader of the Ubuntu project, chairman of the Ubuntu technical board and CTO of the project. At Canonical, Zimmerman coordinated technological decisions related to the development and release of Ubuntu. He announced that he will be leaving Canonical in June on 6 May 2011
