Maurice Clint was professor of Computer Science at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland. His research interests include parallel algorithms for numerical linear algebra and the use of formal methods in the development of parallel and distributed mathematical software. He received his PhD in 1970 from Queen's University Belfast on The eigensolution of unsymmetric matrices by simultaneous iteration, supervised by Alan Jennings. His publications have covered topics including proving properties of programs (e.g., in work with C. A. R. Hoare), program transformation, and distributed computation of eigensolutions.
