Shaykh Muhammad Mehmet Adil was born on 29 March 1957 in Damascus. He is the successor and oldest son of Sultanul Awliya Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani ar-Rabbani (QS) and Hajja Amina Adil Sultan Hanim, and the current spiritual leader of the worldwide Naqshbandi Sufi order.
