Beyond the runway, Lynn pursued a creative writing career. Writing as Merle Lynn Browne, she authored novels such as The Ravishers (1970) and The Arousers (1974), often co-writing with her husband, Gerald A. Browne, a New York Times best-selling author. Her works blended literary fiction with her personal and creative partnership. The couple lived in San Diego, California and Scottsdale Arizona. Gerald died on July 24, 2015, at the age of 90.
