Mr Nyman, 63, was apparently contacted by a stranger who asked him to add her name as a friend. He accepted and the result was a flurry of flirtatious emails, followed by a meeting and then, it is alleged, a romantic fling.
Unfortunately that was not the end of the affair for Mr Nyman. The stranger, who turned out to be Jane Slavin, 39, a former English Shakespeare Company actress and writer, has written a hugely embarrassing internet blog entitled The Facebook Diaries.
