Michael D. Purugganan (born Manila, Philippines in 1963), a Filipino-American biologist and former journalist, is the Silver Professor of Biology at New York University (NYU). and is also on the affiliated faculty at NYU Abu Dhabi and the NYU Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW). He was the Dean for Science of NYU from 2012 to 2019, and director of the NYU Center for Genomics and Systems Biology in New York (2010-2012) and Abu Dhabi (2012-2017).
