Michelle Lisa Herman (born 1985) is an American contemporary and conceptual artist who works with sculpture, fibers, painting, drawing, video, and installation, currently based in Washington, DC. Herman's work investigates the idea of limitations as they relate to the human body and mind and how technology has mediated these limitations. As an artist with disabilities, Herman is interested in how humans create devices using technology or other proxies to extend their abilities.
