Miriam Kennet is an economist and founder of the Green Economics Institute and the International Journal of Green Economics the first green academic journal and has worked to turn green economics from an idea into a robust and sought after academic discipline and practise which many governments around the world clamour to sign up to.It is an important story in the battle for the economics of the 21st century. She regards it as Progressive Economics,reclaiming economics for all people everywhere- especially women, nature other species, the planet and its systems. These are all not just throw away objects but beneficiaries of a green economy. All underpinned by the complex mesh of social and environmental justice together at the same time. Kennet has taught at many universities around the world. Kennet has been published in the Harvard School Economics Review and speaks often on BBC radio including "Wake up to Money" programme and a recent programme on her life and work.
