Monroe "Monty" Newborn (born May 21, 1938), chairman of the computer chess committee for the Association of Computing Machines, was a professor of electrical engineering in Columbia University, and is now a professor of computer science at McGill University in Montreal. He co-wrote a computer chess program named Ostrich.
