What has happened to Tommy Sands (as in Sinatra connection not Irish singer). Is he retiring nicely? enjoying life as he should?

Tommy was the only person I was able to write during very bad time in my life during the late fifties. I still have the letters he wrote to me somewhere :) but as a teenager I was deeply troubled and he helped me. Thank you /tommy for then and for now.
