"FINLEY Quaye is the hottest new arrival on the British pop scene. His first and only album, Maverick A Strike, is about to turn platinum and he's been nominated for two Brit Awards - best newcomer and best male singer. He's unshakeable in his belief that he has his career totally under control. But mention girls and he goes all coy. "I always have someone in my life and right now I'm not quite sure who it is," says Finley, 23, his face creasing into the widest of grins. Industry insiders say THE woman in his life is Neighbours actress turned hit singer Natalie Imbruglia. Finley will only say this: "Natalie is a good friend and I am a good friend," he says. "That's the best thing in the world - to have a friendship for a kick-off. "That's what turns me on, having a good time and having an understanding. It's something you can fathom, you know?" Finley has taken a close interest in 22-year-old Natalie's career, which, like his, has rocketed in recent months after her huge hit Torn."
