Naveed Mukhtar is a Pakistani retired three-star army general and former spymaster who served as the Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence, in office from 11 December 2016 until his retirement on 25 October 2018. Before his appointment to the all-important office of DG ISI, Mukhtar commanded the V Corps of Karachi. He is credited for having played a pivotal role in the success of the Karachi Operation. Mukhtar belongs to Arain Family of Nankana Sahib region of the Punjab Province.
