The Scandal star, 36, and San Francisco 49ers corner back Nnamdi Asomugha 31, are married, E! News reports.
The extremely under-the-radar pair reportedly said "I do" on June 24 in Idaho, after starting to date last summer, according to sports gossip site Terez Owens, who first reported the news.
"Kerry genuinely keeps her private life super private," an ABC source, who does not have official word the pair tied the knot, tells PEOPLE. "This is a shock to everybody."
This marriage would be the first for Washington, who hasn't been known to publicly speak about her personal life in recent years.
Shortly after splitting from fiancé David Moscow, the actress told PEOPLE in 2007, "I was always that girl who was in long-term relationships, and I was never really single. I had always met guys in other ways and never really did the whole dating scene where you go out on multiple dates with different guys."
