Dr P K Santhakumari, B.A.M, MD (Ay) , fondly known as "Teacher" among her students and colleagues is one of the leading subject experts in Ayurvedic ophthalmology. With more than 27 years of teaching and practicing experience behind her, her contributions to the world of ayuveda, especially to that of Ophthalmology is invaluable. Having authored scholarly articles and syllabus textbook to her credit, Dr P K Santhakumari is also on the advisory committee of various ayuvrvedic universities and Ayurveda colleges in India. It has always been her passoin to guide and lead both students and colleagues in the theories of ayurveda. Currently, She served as professor, Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. Dr P K Santhakumari also takes up lead roles in organising seminars and symposiums that help in spreading the branch of Ayurveda especially the specialization of ophthalmology in ayurveda. DR P K Santhakumari is the founder of Matha Ayurveda Eye Hospital at Kudappanakunnu, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India
