Pat "the Cope" Gallagher (Irish: Pádraig Ó Gallchóir; born 10 March 1948) is a former Irish Fianna Fáil politician who served as Leas-Cheann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann from 2016 to 2020, Minister of State for Health Promotion and Food Safety from 2007 to 2008, Minister of State for Environmental Protection from 2002 to 2007, Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht from 1993 to 1994, Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs from 1989 to 1993, Minister of State at the Department of the Marine from 1987 to 1989 and 1992 to 1993. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) from 1981 to 1997, 2002 to 2009 and 2016 to 2020. He also served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1994 to 2002 and from 2009 to 2014.
