Paula Rosenthal (born 24 November 1936 in New York (Queens) - died 4 August 1972 in Bern, Switzerland) is an American actress considered as the first "star" of the pornographic showbusiness. The one that Linda Lovelace called "The inventor of modern sex" got famous in the still very small and confidential circle of pornogrphic cinema of the fifies when she proposed to Jim Lovett to shoot sodomy scenes in chiaroscuro (clear-dark). This is the so called proto-pornographique cinema.
