Back in 1939 I was a classmate of Cora`s younger sister Florence. I remember Cora as a strikingly beautiful girl with aquamarine eyes and a smile that lit up every place she went. Cora was a`regular` person who wasn`t vain or ppreoccupied with her looks, although she had many admirers before meeting Phil Rizzuto. She was a great role model and both her sister Florence and I looked up to her. Phil was also modest about his great fame as a ball player. When I visited their home in Elizabeth , NJ he took the beutiful jeweled trophy that he won as the Most Vauluable Player of the year out of the showcase and handed it to me for a closer look. They are the Great American Dream and Phil is greatly missed. I hope Cora and her family are all doing well.
