Rajavarothiam Sampanthan (Tamil: இராஜவரோதயம் சம்பந்தன்; Sinhala: රාජවරෝදියම් සම්බන්දන්; 5 February 1933 – 30 June 2024) was a Sri Lankan Tamil politician and lawyer who has led the Tamil National Alliance since 2001. He was a Member of Parliament since 2001 until his death in 2024, and previously served as a Member of Parliament from 1977 to 1983 and from 1997 to 2000. He was the Leader of the Opposition from September 2015 to December 2018.
