Dr. Robert Martin Shuter (born July 14, 1946 in New York) is an American author, academic, and consultant specializing in intercultural communication. He is Research Professor at the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University and Professor Emeritus at the Diedrich College of Communication at Marquette University, where he taught for 41 years and chaired the Department of Communication Studies for 29 years.
