The mother had frequently remonstrated with her daughter upon her model life, but without avail. During the last few months of her life, Catherine lived at a lodging house, no. 18 George Street, Spitalfields (the same place where Emma Elizabeth Smith lived), and seems to have been cohabiting with carman and ex-convict Benjamin Goodson.
On December 20 she was found dead on the streets.
