She is one of the most popular actresses of her time and was one of the most successful actresses of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. A veteran television actress with over 55 years of work experience in the Urdu entertainment industry, she was honoured with the Pride of Performance by the Government of Pakistan in 2011.
