Shlomo Yellin was a Jewish lawyer and Ottoman nationalist who was born in the Old City of Ottoman Jerusalem. He was the younger brother of David Yellin. Shlomo was 10 years younger than his brother David. His Ottoman Turkish language training was far more extensive than his brothers and he earned a sport at the Galatasaray Imperial Lycee in Istanbul followed by the Imperial Law School. he found himself mixed with a multicultural cohort and his Ottoman and non-Jewish Horizons widened considerably. His service to the ottoman state was seen as a communal project and supported by his family. He completed his legal studies in 1901 and began work as a lawyer for the Jewish Colonization Association funded by the Baron Rothschild which at the time had most of its colonies near Beirut where Shlomo moved. During this peirod he carried out other legal work for clients of all communities.
