Shpend Ali Ahmeti (born 18 April 1978, Pristina) is a Kosovar politician who is currently the Mayor of Pristina. Ahmeti is a leader of the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo. He was leader of the New Spirit Party, in which merged into Vetëvendosje in 2011, and served as their vice chairman until he left the party in 2018. Ahmeti ended 15 years of LDK tenure in the capital of Kosovo. Ahmeti lectured public policy at the American University in Kosovo before he became mayor.
