Sid Makkar is an actor who appeared onscreen with Mallika Sherawat in the 2004 movie Kis Kis Ki Kismat. He was the lead actor in the Zee TV serial Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann. He left the serial because the commute from home to the studio was difficult, and his character was killed off. He is now going to play the role of Arjun in Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, a production of Balaji Telefilms. He played the character of Rajat, Pinu Patel's gay cousin in the movie Straight. (2009) Makkar currently plays the role of Shankar, Kashinath Pandey’s youngest son, in the increasingly popular soap “Mere Apne” on Channel 9X. On December 2, he married Shalini, an air hostess in Saudi Arabia after a two-year relationship. She is his long time friend and sweet heart.
