Simon de Cordes (c. 1559 – 11 November 1599) was a Dutch merchant and explorer who, following the death of Admiral Jacques Mahu, assumed command of an expedition originally intended to reach the Indies. The objective was later changed to Chile, Peru, and other territories, including regions of New Spain such as Nueva Galicia, the Captaincy General of Guatemala, Nueva Vizcaya, the New Kingdom of León, and Santa Fe de Nuevo México.
