American Actor Slappy White was born Melvin Edward White on 20th September, 1921 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA and passed away on 7th Nov 1995 Brigantine, New Jersey, USA aged 74. He is most remembered for his appearances with Redd Foxx on the Chitlin' Circuit of stand-up comedy during the 1950s and 1960s, and for his role as Melvin in the NBC television sitcom Sanford and Son.
