GNRTruth reports that legendary former Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash was photographed last night with his ex-girlfriend Meegan Hodges, who used to be Erin Everly’s roomate. Everly was married to Axl Rose, and Slash dated Hodges. Hodges wrote, “I love this man! My heart. My person. My best friend.” It is not known if this was a friendly reunion or if Slash could possibly be back together with Hodges. Slash is married to Perla Hudson.
In other news, Slash recently performed at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, and he had an unexpected gift delivered to him by the country’s most famous band: U2. The iconic group sent Slash a case of Guinness to welcome him to their home. Slash is a recovering addict, so he could not accept the alcohol. He responded in kind on Twitter, “Many thanks to @U2 for the ‘Welcome to Dublin; case of Guinness! The only thing I miss about being sober.” Sources tell AlternativeNation.net that U2 did it in the name of love.
Slash discussed his struggles with alcohol in a 2012 interview with Classic Rock Magazine, “I come from, not an alcoholic background, but my dad was a drinker and people in my family were drinkers, and being born in England that was just part of pub culture” Slash said. “So that was definitely the hardest. And next was smoking. “Heroin was physically hard, but I was always in and out of that. The whole process of getting off that stuff was a very long and tedious process, and it got to the point where I was really sick and tired of it, to the point where it didn’t interest me any more.”
“But I also know that if I thought I could casually have a drink or casually do whatever, that would leave that door open. I know how that works, because I’ve done it before, so I just abstain from it altogether.
“I had dinner once with [actor] Ewan McGregor and ‘Trainspotting’ was all we talked about. That’s one of the iconic drug movies. There’s nothing that beats f–king dope. Especially when you’re first doing it. That’s what junkies are chasing their entire lives, that first buzz.”
