Stanley and Charlotte first met at a dinner at Oxford University.
When Stanley was offered a bursary to study in the US, the couple decided to travel out there together and were married two years later.
However, over the years their relationship became strained and they divorced in 1979.
The Johnson clan were said to be very sad about the divorce, but Stanley and Charlotte are reportedly still on good terms.
Over the years there have been claims that Stanley spent much of his first marriage womanising.
In fact there is a quote from Charlotte in 'Boris: The Adventures of Boris Johnson' by Andrew Gimson.
It reads: “According to Charlotte, “I couldn’t stay with him. He is so incessible, not to say completely unfaithful.
“I couldn’t live with him never allowing anything to be serious.”
In response to these rumours, Mr Johnson told The Independent: “It’s complete garbage. You track it down to something which was said in Andrew Gimson’s book, and if you go into it there is no substance.”
