Model Theo Graham and photographer Ted Croner were married in 1951. The couple initially lived in New York City and owned a farm in East Hampton. They divorced in 1956, after which Graham moved to Italy to continue her modeling career. The two were part of a close-knit circle of fashion professionals in the late 1940s, often dining with photographer William Helburn and model Sue Jencks. Croner was one of several famous photographers who worked with Graham, a leading Manhattan model and muse to Richard Avedon.
Graham moved to Rome in 1956—the same year the couple split—where she later married film producer Carlo Saraceni in 1957.
