Tina Marquand: her last “flirt” is a young Roman “play-boy”
Apparently the rumors that ensure a romantic relationship between Tina and actor Alberto Sordi are not true.
Many Alberto Sordi’s
friends were convinced that the bachelor number one of Italian cinema had finally found a woman capable of making him give up his freedom, to think seriously about marriage. Because since Alberto had met Tina Marquand, the young and attractive daughter of Jean-Pierre Aumont and Maria Montez, the actor had become a different person, abstracted, which had made his friends think that Alberto was in love to the core of the actress.
But what has happened in these last weeks, and especially the behavior of Tina, imply that the previsions of a possible wedding of Alberto are not true. A few days ago, Tina was seen in the “Piper Club” under the arm of Lorenzo Ripoli, a handsome young man of the same age as her. Throughout the night, the couple has not stopped dancing for a moment. And Tina appeared happy, enthusiastic about Lorenzo’s company. In this way, Tina wanted to deny in public the voices that ran about her friendship with Sordi.
Alberto Sodri met Tina at the beginning of August when the film festival was held in Taormina. Their meeting, although it was casual, was a little bulky. The young actress accepted the invitation of a Sicilian, who introduced himself to her as a photo-reporter, boarding a boat to go to make a photographic service and one of the most beautiful places - and secluded - of the beach of Taormina. But very soon, Tina understood that the young man’s intentions were different, and that in reality he had taken her away from the port to take advantage of the loneliness. Tina began to scream desperately, imploring help with all the force of her lungs ... The chance wanted that at that time, Alberto Sordi was in a motorboat with some friends and could hear Tina screaming. Alberto rushed at full speed towards the boat and managed to save the actress from such an unpleasant situation. The young Sicilian later declared that he was not a photographer, and that he had used only to approach Tina, and gain her trust, with the least honest intentions possible. Alberto did his best to calm Tina who was in a real crisis of nerves when she arrived at the port. And thanks to his kindness and care, Tina smiled again in a few minutes.
That same night [Tina and Alberto Sordi] dined together, and the next day a friend invited them to spend the day on his yacht. From that moment until the end of the festival, the couple did not separate for a minute. And even days later, already in Rome, it was not difficult to see Alberto and Tina hand in hand through the typical streets of Trastevere. Alberto offered her a role in his film “Excuse me, are you contrary or in favor?”. The crew worked in San Felipe Circeo, a fashionable beach, a few kilometers from the capital, and all the components could see the affection with which Alberto treated Tina. Many affirmed that when the actress obtained the divorce from her first husband, Christian Marquand, Alberto would have asked for the matrimonial “yes”.
But the couple’s panorama changed when Lorenzo Ripoli entered the scene. Tina and Lorenzo met at a party less than a month ago. Lorenzo works as a film operator, and is halfway between “beatnik” and “playboy”. He is anti-conformist, lazy, daring and attractive ... Since they met, they have not lost sight of eachother. Every night they went dancing together to a nightclub and Tina did not mind at all when they photographed her while dancing with her friend.
A few days ago, after the farewell soirée at “Piper”, Tina left for Paris. At the hotel she left a note for Lorenzo, telling him she would be gone for a few days. But she would go back ...
