So who is Alexander “Nico” Fanjul? He’s the son of sugar baron Alexander Fanjul. They own a ton of land and belong to several clubs. Nico has reportedly been studying for his insurance license exam. And he had been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Tinsley, a socialite and fashion designer. The two, who have a 10-year age gap, reportedly started dating in December 2012. Sources told Page Six the relationship was “unhealthy” and that Nico was abusive. There had been one arrest, four police reports, and a written warning from the Palm Beach Police Department. But Tinsley was scared of what his family would do if she went public with the accusations. Tinsley was even hospitalized on Christmas in 2013. Then on New Year’s Eve, Nico called the police because of an “unwanted guest.” The cops found Tinsley, who “appeared intoxicated,” locked in a bathroom saying she wanted to prosecute Nico. They gave her a trespassing warning. On New Years, she explained to the cops that she had been trying to help stop a fight between Nico and his brother Oliver “Reddy” Fanjul. Reddy hit her in the eye, and Nico defended him by eventually covering her mouth and nose. But she didn’t prosecute. Tinsley Mortimer was arrested for trespassing at Alexander “Nico” Fanjul's house. Police were again called to the home for an “unwanted guest” in 2014. The cops found Tinsley crying because she and Nico got into a fight over a boat trip she and her friends went on. She claimed Nico “tried to smother her with a pillow.” She locked herself in the car, and he attacked it. That December, cops were called again because of a fight. The couple would also reportedly fight over Nico’s rumored cheating. Then in April, Tinsley was arrested for trespassing when she showed up at his house when his new girlfriend was there. Nico and Tinsley finally split in April.
