Thomas "Tommy" Smales (birth registered first ¼ 1939) is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s, and coached in the 1970s and 1980s. He played at club level for Wigan (Heritage № 588), Barrow and Featherstone Rovers (Heritage № 335) as a goal-kicking loose forward, i.e. number 13, during the era of contested scrums, and coached at club level for Dewsbury (two spells), Featherstone Rovers, Bramley, Doncaster and Batley.
