Details
Wang Cheng (c.269 – c.312), courtesy name Pingzi, was an official of the Jin dynasty (266–420). He was the younger brother of the minister, Wang Yan. As part of his brother's strategy to assist the Prince of Donghai, Sima Yue, Wang Cheng was assigned to guard the key region of Jing province in the south. Though once considered a promising and upright official, Wang's tenure in Jing saw him neglect his official affairs and fail to quell the rebellions of Wang Ru and Du Tao. In the end, he was recalled from his position and assassinated by his cousin, Wang Dun.
