He won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, silver medals at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships and bronze medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2015, 2017 and 2019 World Championships. His personal best in the event is 82.52 metres set in 2021 at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
