Yevgeny Vladimirovich Afanasyev (Russian: Евгений Владимирович Афанасьев; born 25 May 1947) is a Russian diplomat. He has served as the Russian ambassador to South Korea between 1997 and 2000, to Thailand between 2004 and 2010, and to Japan between 2012 and 2018. He was awarded the distinction of Honored Employee of the Diplomatic Service of the Russian Federation in 2016.
