I love Ben Vereen he`s one of my favorite actors! I do hope i get the pleasure of meeting him one day! :)

I met Ben and photographed him for about twenty minutes at a Tupperware convention in Florida where he was performing as the main attraction. (This was prior to his major accident.) He sang, danced, and mingled with the audience to the delight of a convention hall full of screaming women. When he went in to the audience singing, and kissing the ladies, I was surprised he still had some clothes on. He took it all in stride and did a wonderfull performance which had everyone standing in their chairs. This was in the mid 1980`s. I was a tag-along husband who captured EVERYTHING that was going on. I recently sent him a note which was just returned today, 1-20-09. He moved from his New York location. Photos are NOT for sale without Ben`s permission. I never saw a guy work up such a sweat. Jumping, dancing, flying in the air, etc. He is magic.

Then as I wondered what Ben was doing today, I looked at my Halloween underwear that spell out the word ---Wicked---. Then I googled Ben and found out he was in the Broadway play "Wicked." So I am now writing my first fan letter of all time, or actually, a comment, but I hope Ben reads it. In 1985, I think, I met Ben when I embarrassed myself at his concert due to his magnificence. Later, at the Turquoise Lady in Dallas where I worked, I met his son, Ben, and had a chance to talk to my hero, Ben, as well. All I can say is that I love this guy. I love his face! Every chance to see it is a joy. I always think, "There is the sweetest face in show business, and I love that face." Ben, you do crazy things to me still, just at the sight of that smile. I love you! I hope your son, Ben, is well, too. What a sweetheart of a young man he was then! I know it runs in the family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that Ben is a very spiritual man, and I don`t take it for a coincidence that when I came home tonight, I immediately turned the TV to the movie in which he played Louis Armstrong. I took up the trumpet when I was a child because of Louis Armstrong. He is my hero, and so is Ben.
