Ike Turner met Velma Davis (née Dishman) at the Cotton Club on Camplin Avenue in Yazoo City, Mississippi in 1948. Velma claimed that Ike is the father of her daughter Linda Turner Bullock, born in 1949. However, Turner asserted in his book that he is not the biological father of her child. The couple married on September 19, 1950. Velma and Linda attended Ike's Mississippi Blues Trail marker unveiling in 2010.
