Miss Universe 2007, the 56th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 28 May 2007 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico. Riyo Mori from Japan was crowned by Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico as her successor at the end of the event. This is Japan's only second (and most recent) win at Miss Universe, and the only second time that Asia has won Miss Universe in the 21st century (since India's victory in 2000). 77 contestants competed in this year.
