What about his role as Rene in Basquiat? I really liked him in that role and he was definitely not playing a villain in that one.

i think that´s harsh not to mention inaccurate. michael has incredible verstility. sure he portrays alot of villains, but there can be no comparison of, say, his role as hayes in seraphim falls and his role as soneji in along came a spider. as hayes he´s a disgusting, detestable human being. as soneji he´s intelligent but vulnerable and almost likeable. in alien resurrection for a brief instant we see a tender side to him. i think you´re selling him short, or maybe you´re just not very informed. i think he´s widely unrecognized because he melds so comepletely with his character that he´s unrecognizeable from one film to the next. i think he´s still got alot to offer.

Do they not teach career management at julliyard? Is it considered selling out to chose a part in order to futher your career. I think Michael Wincott has mad potencial, but he´s managed to spend 30 years in obscurity. Why is that. He´s brillant as a villain, but i´d like to see some more versatility from him. Before it´s too late.
