I learned from a good source that Ruth discovered Gilbert Roland( not his real name)he was bell-hoping at a Long Beach Hotel. She was overtaken by his good looks and changed his name to Gilbert Roland and put him into movies. I hav a story on how Gilbert came to California. and have been trying to find his real name. ( not the one on his PR page
