Sarah Belzoni or Sarah Banne (January 1783 – 12 January 1870) was an English traveller and writer. She travelled notably to Egypt and wrote about women there. Although many tales of circuses and wild travels are associated with her and her eccentric husband, it is more likely that they had become agents of the papal families who financed their expeditions while establishing relic museums as money generating ventures for the Vatican bank.
